It is almost becoming like a personal late-night weekend tradition. And it is one that I enjoy very much. What am I talking about? Well, it’s only Saturday morning and the hour marks 1:41 AM and I’ve just gotten home after a very nice evening dinner with some close friends. For quite some time now, I have devoted Friday nights to spending time with friends and hanging out till late. Most times we gather to eat something or go somewhere where we can enjoy ourselves. However, right now I want to talk about what I get to do after departing with friends, and before getting home.
I’m talking about a refreshing but very enjoyable car drive around the city of Tirana at night.
Obviously, spending time with great friends and food has no comparisons in itself, but these last few weeks I’ve started to enjoy also the company of just myself and the car radio. You see work is so hectic and this has become very true for me. That is why this is a refreshing experience which is enhanced by the fact that there are almost no people or cars in the streets and I can have it all to myself.
As I mentioned at the start of the post it is late and most people are asleep by now. This is just ideal because it allows me to be completely alone and I can focus on whatever I want or just listen to the music while driving around and enjoying the calmness of it all. I don’t have to worry about the mundane issues and problems of everyday work and life, nor is there anyone around to remind me of them, so it is just perfect.
Moreover, the city looks just beautiful and the Tirana ring-road is quite appealing for such a drive as it has almost been finished and paved all the way around and it is almost all light up with lights. What am I saying? Well, I definitively would suggest the late night drive, however, as I know that that is not possible for all, I would definitively encourage you to find and time and a place to get alone by yourself and clear your mind from all the worries and problems of everyday life and just relax. It is just worth it!
As far as I’m concerned, I’m going to keep up with this tradition for as long as I can or till I find something better.
