Today, finally, I got an ADSL Internet connection for my house. I signed and paid for it about 1 week and a half ago, then today their technicians came to install it in my house. The fact is that up till now I was having to use the Albtelecom dial-up internet service at home. But it would take me three times the wait to do what I normally am able to do at work with a fast internet connection, plus the monthly bill seemed to increase almost every month.
Needless to say that my family was more than happy with the decision as now on I will not have to block the phone line for hours at a time. I’m not telling the name of the ISP yet, as I do not want to advertise them too much until I’m convinced that it is truly a good service.
That it for now 🙂
Yeah! It’s a whole other world!
I also had installed the ADSL connection in my apt in Tirana, when I was there a few months ago. It worked like a charm and it was an indescribable pleasure not to sit for ages waiting for a screen refreshment or being able to download something without spending hours and then… being abruptly interrupted by the phone line drop…..
The actual install took only 3/4 of an hour because I carefully planned the route the installers needed to get the cable into the apt. (when they came they had no idea which route to take although they had visited the apt. twice before – but that’s another story….;-)!
I was lucky to when they came to install my internet. It took them about the same time it did for yours, but I got lucky because I got a wireless router with the installation which was not what I had paid for. Basically a 50 Euro gift. Not bad 🙂
