The other day I went to get my new ID card. Oh boy was I happy – not really. Anyway, I applied for it about a month ago and had to wait 4 hours in line, then when I went to get it luckily the line was short and it took them only about 10 minutes. A relatively easy process, wouldn’t you say?

I think the long line depends on several factors. In my own district my application process lasted 5 minutes (there were 6-7 tables, so 7 people could do the application process at the same time) , then I waiting 4 weeks (not less not more than they said) until I received my ID card and it took just 3 minutes to get it. 🙂 Maybe it depends on districts, or maybe on times of the day. In short, here there were no lines, no inconveniences and no delays in getting the ID card. 🙂

Every day when I walk around the streets of Tirana I try my best to obey the red lights. Some people may argue that if you are not required or obliged then you can just skip them, but in my conscience I choose to obey even if just for the sake of a good example to those around me. By the way, I am not perfect, just consciously compliant. 🙂
In Bucharest the waiting time is 2 weeks from the day you apply and the waiting in line time at the aplication is anywhere from 30 mins to 1 and a half hours because they check every paper and after that they take pictures of you and only a single person does it all. So only minor differences :))
Oh and if it happens that you live in an apartment that is not yours, you’re gonna have to bring with you the owner of the apartment so if you live in your parents’ apartment one of them must be present too (God knows why…).
Hahaa, you have to bring your parents with you when you apply? 🙂 That is crazy.
By the way just recently the government decided that the ID card fee for retired persons will be withdrawn automatically from their pension payment, what do you call that ?
In my state of Indiana, in the USA, when you have your photo taken for your driver’s license now, you are not allowed to smile. Seriously, if you smile, they think you are a terrorist who is trying to thwart the governments computer facial recognition scanners and they will refuse you a license unless you look seriously at them.
I can’t wait until mine comes up for renewal in a few years. I will wear fake plastic teeth in just to mess with their silly minds!

Hi,I live in Greece for 12 years now and the last time i was in Albania was 10 years ago,now i read something about id cards and new pass can i get it also from here just to go to the embassy or i have to be there myself?does anybody knows something?
I don’t know for sure. You may ask the Albanian embassy there in Greece and they should be able to tell you.

At the same office where they issue the driver’s licenses there’s also the office which takes care of preparing the International Driver’s licenses. I believe it takes one or two days for them to prepare it.
